“The Wizard and the Scholar” is basically an artificial intelligence movie. Filmmaking in the 21st century is slowly changing that. This AI format was initially created by humans and has evolved very quickly. Today, it is where filmmakers showcase their skills. The director of the movie, James G. Maynard, uses this AI format. The narrative is based on the events of the year 1156, when a weak wizard joins the legendary Robin Hood. The whole story and AI visualization were excellent. In this story, we are traveling through the year 1156. This movie is really interesting to watch, and the background music was very calming. Especially the market area is eye-catching. The dialogue “I am a student of nature” was excellent; we are all like that. Both the ship and the dock are interesting. The full cast of characters makes this a good adventure story. There are moments when we feel as if we are in this scene. The final scene, where they depart on a ship and a quiet song, is also nice.
James Gordon Maynard, the director, wants to tell a story that makes us feel like we are on an adventure and tells a good story.
Technical points: This movie has a good plot and some interesting AI build structures.
The editing could have been a little better. Sometimes the zooms in and out don’t look interesting. However, the wide shots also look great, especially in the ship scenes.
The composition of the film also needed some improvement. However, the movie “The Wizard and the Scholar” is good overall. We expect director James Gordon Maynard to produce more lifelike AI-based work.
Critique Point: 3/5
