DeadEnd, Austria (Critique Review)

DeadEnd, an experimental film directed by Otwin Biernat, had a great idea. Director Otwin Biernat, who was instructed, lit everything, set the scene, and performed. First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to Otwin Biernat for reviewing this fantastic project and submitting it to our film festival. One thing comes to mind after seeing this movie: if you are passionate about something, you can do it alone. You can easily shoot a film if you have a camera and good ideas.

Director Otwin accepts this challenge with ease; he packs his equipment and shoots alone. DeadEnd is a concept that allows you to battle your thoughts or mental battle. The road landscape is shown first, followed by a cottage that is some distance from the city and uninhabited. This is a potentially very lovely and significant scene. The protagonist of this film makes multiple unsuccessful attempts to take his own life in various ways.

In our minds, we have someone else who controls us sometimes. If they are good, they can help us, but if they are evil, they can ruin us. Director Otwin depicts this in a very amazing way. Their dialogue and the duality scene were both excellent. Additionally, his dancing performance and the cowbell ringing occasionally remind us of the iconic movie “Into the Wild” while he enjoys life to the tune of his guitar.

The direction, screenplay, and scripting were excellent, but the color correction could use some work. Both the empty landscape and the camera work were superb. Also, Otwin’s acting is good. It was a humorous moment and an attractive part of the conclusion when he hanged himself and failed the suicide attempt once more. We wish you continued success in the future and hope to see your project again.
