Hello Francisco, we appreciate you providing us with an exclusive interview regarding your project, ” THE TENDER ONES WILL TRIUMPH ” Viewing your project has made us very happy. Could you please share your experience working on it?
I decided to explore the topic of the war in Ukraine because it touched me personally, as I have many Ukrainian friends, I have visited the country many times, and I have worked there as a co-producer on films. In addition, I live in Poland, and in a conversation with a Ukrainian photographer friend, she told me about her life as an immigrant from a country at war. That inspired me to film this story, which speaks about the courage of the Ukrainian people in the face of the adversity of war.Give us more information about yourself and your career path.
I was born in Chile into an Italian family. At the age of 22 I settled in Europe, where I have been living for several years. I studied law in Chile, then theater in Spain, and pantomime and dance in France. I worked as an actor in theater and film in France. I also worked as a street performer. For more than 12 years, I have been dedicated to editing illustrated books and producing films. My productions have won several awards, and I have even been selected at the Cannes Film Festival. The project I am now presenting at festivals is my first project as a director. I have an audiovisual production company called Krakovia Producciones. I currently live in Poland.
Would you mind giving us a sneak peek at some of your next projects in this field?
I am currently working on a project to film a music video for a song I recorded last year. I am also developing a script based on a poem by the Ukrainian writer Andriy Permyakov for a short film in which we will include elements of artificial intelligence. In addition, I am awaiting the results of a film funding grant for another short film based on a story by Andriy Permyakov. What have been some of the most challenging positions you have held in your professional life, and what challenges did you face along the way?
It may sound strange, but performing as a street artist, as a living statue, has been a great challenge both physically and mentally. Later, working as the director of this short film (THE TENDER ONES WILL TRIUMPH), in addition to handling its production, has been my greatest professional challenge. I have had to be involved in practically everything, making use of everything I have learned over the years. You are from Italy how is the state of the film industry there right now? Which movie—the commercial or the art house—did you prefer?
I am an Italian and Chilean citizen living in Poland. I have close ties with Italy and its cinema. In October, I will receive an award at a film festival in Italy. I believe that, overall, the industry is developing well, and I appreciate the regional support Italy provides for the growth of cinema. One of my favorite Italian films is LA GRANDE BELLEZZA by Paolo Sorrentino.
In 2025, we will all be reliant on AI filmmaking. What do you think? Is artificial intelligence filmmaking the next big thing in filmmaking?
I absolutely agree. This year, I have been in contact with film directors in Poland, who are dedicated exclusively to creating films with AI. In my particular case, I am starting a project where I intend to use AI. This year, we used it in a small scene for my project THE FAREWELL MELODY. I definitely believe it will be a revolution in the cinema to come. I just think that real actors should continue to be used in films.

What is your opinion on independent filmmakers, and how do they connect or market their films to the right distribution channels?
I have a high regard for independent films; I believe they preserve the creativity and freedom that should be the essence of cinema when conceived as an art form. My advice, if possible, is to attend film festivals with a strong film industry section in order to find distributors willing to take risks on this type of cinema and to connect with platforms that seek independent films to include in their catalog.
To conclude, once again, many thanks, and what message would you like to share with the next generation regarding your love of guidance?
First of all, thank you very much for this interesting interview. It is a great opportunity for me to talk about my project and introduce myself to your audience. Humbly, if I could give one piece of advice to the new generations, it would be not to give up on their dreams. Art is the only thing that will endure over time, which means that the works they create will always be of great importance. Try to speak about subjects you know and truly feel are urgent to communicate. Read good books by universal authors—technology is only an ally, not the ultimate purpose of creation. We are still human, and your works must always remind us of the fact.
